The Benevolent Fund was created to help residents offset the cost of in-home care. Since Advanced Living operates residential retirement communities, our staff does not provide on-going medical or personal care. Residents in need of services such as housekeeping, meal preparation, bathing or medication reminders are able to contract with a home health agency for assistance. This allows them to age in place comfortably and safely. As many as 15% of our residents receive such care. Most are eligible for some type of financial assistance, but some find themselves unable to pay the balance, through no fault of their own.
When we become aware of such situations, Advanced Living steps in to cover the cost with reserves from the Benevolent Fund. Doing so is crucial to our residents’ well-being and enables them to remain healthy and safe as a part of our community. For hundreds of low-income seniors, Advanced Living Communities is a place to call home. Contributions to our Benevolent Fund ensure they can stay as long as possible.
